Patterned pine

I awoke at 3.30am this morning to the sound of what sounded like someone in our swimming pool.  I didn't worry about it, and went back to sleep.  It wasn't until I went outside this morning (in the daylight), that I saw a huge pine tree lying on the ground.  That was the noise - the tree thumping to the ground.

This is one of the pine cones from the tree.  I love the pattern and different colours  of the cone - very unusual.
