Oamaru Harbour

Today have been to Oamaru to visit a sick relative so while there drove down to the harbour. 50 years ago this used to be a busy harbour which shipped out grain from the Nth Otago area.
Now it just has pleasure boats. To the far end of the Cape is where many little Blue Penguins come ashore  and is a very busy tourist attraction. The cape in the background was covered in pine trees which have been milled so all looks rather bare. I expect they will replant it .
Home at 6pm so will now try and catch up on blip. Thank you to all that have visited my journal this past week . I have been really gratified by the great comments on my Keas etc. from last weekend it was such a fun time.
