A precious Scottish evening

I was all set to post a lovely photo that I took earlier today, of a female mute swan and her four new cygnets. This was on the same pond where I took a photo of a terrapin yesterday. But then I took my dog out for a late evening walk and couldn't resist trying to capture some sense of the rare, calm, warm, clear conditions that were the tail-end of the hot, sunny day we have had. Evenings like this are so rare and precious in Scotland, and so are to be treasured and remembered! And the scene was all the more special on account of the lovely slender, knife-blade thin crescent moon.
