Orchid

My first full day in Singapore and a chance to visit the utterly beautiful Botanic Gardens and the National Orchid Garden, a place which almost defies description. I am no botanist, nor indeed a keen gardener, but one couldn't fail to be impressed by the flowers on display.

What I also soon realised was that, because of Singapore's location, it is extremely hot and humid and prone to sudden, and very heavy, showers - maybe downpours would be a better word.

In the evening I visited the stunning Gardens By The Bay and the fantastic illuminated Supertrees, which gave me a bit of a dilemma when it came to choosing my photo of the day.. But I stuck with an image from the National Orchid Garden.
