Fastenpretzel

During lent, some bakers around here bake 'Fastenpretzel'. They are made with the same dough as standard pretzels but are cooked differently, going into hot water before they are put into the oven (in the same way as bagels). They don't have the dark brown crispy alkaline glaze on them, and the salt on the outside is much finer.
