Something fishy?

I left my car in for diagnostics and tune up yesterday, but it wasn't finished in time for collection before they closed.  Today the story is that they didn't have the right software (?) and had to remove the ECU (?).  It wasn't ready for collection today either, but is promised for tomorrow.  I should stress that this isn't my usual "100% does what he says on the tin" mechanic, this is another lot.  So, what am I to think?  Are they telling porkies because they (a) scratched my car and are waiting for the paint to dry on the repair job, (b) were too busy passing around spliffs to be ar**d working on my car yesterday or today, or is it (c) they are nice proper chaps that are working away feverishly to deliver the best result for the customer (me).  I do hope it is "C". Tomorrow will tell hopefully!  I walked into the bathroom this afternoon to see this little wooden fishy silhouetted against sunlight on textured glass. I was going to pass him off as a real fish, but the stick that holds him up is a bit of a giveaway. I thought he fitted today's customer experience rather well.
