Twilight (Dead) Tree, Two Trunks

Made a quick visit to the nature reserve this afternoon after the rain stopped but it was strangely quiet.

This bifurcated tree on the skyline has been catching my eye for a long time but I've never stopped to photograph it before because I thought there wasn't a safe place on the undulating road with double whites to pull over. Don't know why I've never noticed the gateway where I pulled in this evening before. Maybe it's because it's the sort of road where it's best to have one's eyes on it?
