Scuba Lunch

From paddy fields to a PADI diving course. Jenny got her open water scuba diving qualification a few years ago when she went to Thailand but I had never tried it before. This was the first of two days doing my qualification around the Bacuit Archipelago. The first day was three dives, the first in confined water learning skills such as removing and replacing your mask underwater and the second and third dives in open water doing some skills practise and some exploring. Jenny was on the same boat doing a refresher course and some fun dives.

It was absolutely fantastic and definitely up there was one of the best experiences in my life. The coral was an amazing sight with all sorts of fish weaving in and out of the coral and anemones. I saw cuttlefish, barracuda, stingrays, clown fish, banner fish, jelly fish and all sorts of weird and wonderful things that I couldn't name. Jenny saw a turtle which I missed and I am quite jealous about! The feeling of floating 18 metres under water is probably as close to being weightless as I am likely to get. We don't have an underwater camera but I am quite glad to have been able to experience it without worrying about photos.

Lunch was included and consisted of barbecued chicken and fish with salad on board the boat bobbing on the waves next to the islands. This part was above water so we managed to get a photo!
