Puerto Princesa

Our last night on Palawan Island was spent in a plush hotel in the main city of Puerto Princesa. We spent most of the day relaxing by the pool then went to a park in the evening where 150 American Marines were burned alive by the Japanese towards the end of the war. There is now a memorial park on the spot where it happened. It is gruesome but an important reminder of how horrendously cruel human beings can be.
