Change is as good as a rest

It's that time of year when I start preparing next year's department budget proposal and working on the schedule - who'll teach what next year in music and art.  Placing colleagues with student choice electives, it looks like I will be teaching some music again - first time for several years.  This afternoon I spent some of my "free" (non-teaching) time working with a couple of final year students as they practice for their forthcoming performance exams and thought how nice it will be to do this again on a regular basis, come September, as well as teaching Studio Art.   Poor lad wondered what was going on when I started waving my camera about - some new torture technique worse than scales perhaps?

Early evening and Elizabeth and I strolled over to where we used to live to see Charlie who was too feral to bring to the new flat, but still hangs out around the old place and is fed by those who live there now.  He and Elizabeth were, are, such good friends and he came running.  They stayed together long after I returned home.  I think it is time to make a real attempt to bring him here and see if he will settle in as a house cat with Elizabeth and Caroline.
