Swallowing a Frog

“If you know you have to swallow a frog, swallow it first thing in the morning. If there are two frogs, swallow the big one first.”
-Mark Twain

This bust of a smiling frog in his tuxedo jacket has been sitting on my desk since I was in graduate school, when it would remind me of this quote and hopefully give me a jump start on mornings when I was lacking motivation and prone to procrastination.

This morning I swallowed a very large frog and began the long overdue purging of things no longer needed in my home office. Retirement has given me permission to do this.

Completely unrelated, but worthy of note:  Today would have been my parent's 71st wedding anniversary.  They were married in Toowoomba, NSW, Australia during WW II.
