Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie Scaredy Cat

The chaps fitting the secondary glazing arrived early. In fact, I spotted them while out with Archie, and came home post haste - JR was not yet up. As they brought in the new windows and held them up, I said, half joking, 'They're too big!'

The chap told me not to worry, to go and have a coffee, all would be well. They're always made slightly big so that they can be cut and fitted. Hmmmm.

Half an hour later, they came and told us that they were, in fact, too big! How could this have happened? Even with a priority request, it could still take two weeks to re-do. Not impressed.

Lots of spring cleaning today. And I did some sawing and chopping kindling. Annoyingly enough, I was not able to add this to the Exercise bit on one of my diet apps - had to put it down as 'Yard Work - Gardening' at only 168 calories - that can't be right!! The other app listed chopping wood and granted me 232 calories burned. Jings! Hard going or what! Apparently I burn 567 calories just sleeping! That's a lot of !!!

I'm using a couple of weight loss apps. It's fun being super OCD and filling in every single item of food eaten, but rather alarming seeing the calories whizz up.

A friend popped round in the afternoon with her daughter B and friend K. Archie immediately took himself off to the kitchen and had to be carried into the lounge. They're not even toddlers! But they do have excitable girlie voices...

They were desperate to cuddle him, but had to make do with just patting him as I held him (tightly) on my knee. However, they all went out for a walk to the Links and come back best of pals. Archie loves anyone who will throw a stick for him.

PS The chocolate biscuit tin was within reach when I had my coffee, and I did not open it! This is truly noteworthy
