Flower Friday and Lentil Soup

Hubby came home from Vienna a day earlier as he had caught the flu-like bug that is sweeping through the team at the building site. They are coming down with it one after the other so it will be interesting how many front up next week. Hubby has all next week off as he needs to have his chest monitored.  

I did venture out for a walk today but it is a bit early for flowers here so I have blipped the flowers from the Gloxine plant that my friends gave me last weekend. Here is one of the buds.
So no culinary delights this weekend - tonight I cooked a comforting Middle Eastern Lentil Soup spiced with cumin and turmeric after finally finding dried red lentils. They were organic and 3 times the price I would pay in Australia but at least I found them. And it was delicious with a squeeze of fresh lime juice when serving.
