midwife crisis

Utterly surprisingly good day at work. Inexplicable low C/Section rate the last few days, which makes the work load and the job satisfaction wonderful. Instead of it being a surgical ward and having to send too many babies to neonatal unit due to complications from questionable intervention, we had women that could get up after having their babies, eat and drink normally and felt well enough for care for their babies. It took me right back to the UK days, brilliant. What a shame it won't last, it's only a statistical coincidence and intervention madness will resume shortly. My frustration and inability to influence change is enormous. I have to remind myself repeatedly that to remain sane I should only concern myself with what I can influence.

I've only been away for 3 days, glad to see Hubs has been enjoying himself. I'll be on catch up now......crack open the best mayonnaise and tahini darling!
Had a lovely evening at home with himself and Yola, chickpea and spinach curry awaited me, had a small G&T to celebrate that I'm on holiday for the next 13 days......hallelujah.
