Arbequino olive oil

I have already confessed to an olive oil obsession.

My friend J delights in seeking out highly original oils of the world.

I feel bad about using them as everything about them is so appealing.

This bottle is oil from the Arbequino olive grown in Spain.
The oil has been smoked with selected woods

Arbequino olives are cold-infused with oak, beech and birch organic wood smoke into a cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Maintaining all its essence and quality without losing flavour. It has a fresh aroma of apple and almond, with a warm touch of caramel, vanilla and toffee.

All that awaits me.

The name comes from the village of Arbeca in the comarca of the Les Garrigues where it was first introduced to Europe from Palestine in the seventeenth century by the Duke of Medinaceli. (Thanks to Wiki and other sources).
