central market...

..in Adelaide where I'm visiting for a week staying with friends met on the Irrawaddy River  last year.

First stop off the plane the amazing Central Markets dating back to 1869.
On two levels there are grocers, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers and everything in between
including
achacha (rainforest fruit)
buddha's hands ( a variety of not very juicy but zesty lemon and a wonderful room freshener)
and
wedding cakes made from cheese ( a Wallace and Grommet special surely.)
