Last minute dot com

I’m heading North on the M1 with Chris in the passenger seat.  This was not the plan; if anything, he was meant to be driving us South to Heathrow.

At 6.30am we’re on our way to Northampton General Hospital.  He sustained a nasty injury on his hand yesterday in a Rugby match.  He was taken to hospital for an x-ray and then told to come back first thing in the morning for surgery.  

Not the best time - he’s starting a new job tomorrow.  He can’t drive at the moment and it’ll be about 6 weeks before his hand is fully functional again.  Just in time for our return.

When we first hear that he’s been injured we don’t know the details and so go through the ‘do we postpone the flights …?’ scenario. Thankfully it’s more an inconvenience than anything else.

So Anniemay packs and tidies while I drive North.  Then finally we're ready ....
