Quintie

Back blip

Our neighbours Merce and Ferran invited us in for a wonderful paella. Merce's eye-catching homemade poppet joined in at the last moment to help us take our first ever quintie.

We arrived just in time after we had earlier dashed out to buy a new chair for our library area. Dd is on a renovation path that is sweeping through the house and started at the front door which now has a new draught excluding curtain over it and moving past the new shoe storer in the entrance way itself.

We had seen the chair during the week and returned to the shop at ten to two, twenty minutes after it had closed, unknown to us, at 1.30 pm for the weekend. But it's family run and the lady kindly let us in to do the necessary. We ordered a large taxi to take us and it back home and arrived two minutes before paella time at 2:30 pm.

At 9 pm, with lunch just finished, we headed off to see our friend Helen sing in a cafe theatre called Tinta Roja in Poble Sec. She has a lovely voice and for many years was also the voice coach on the ground breaking Spanish TV show Operacíon Triumfo, a precursor to Pop Idol. It's been a great day and night.
