St Michael in Lewes
St Michael’s church, which dates from around 1200, is the only church remaining within the old town walls of Lewes. It has some superb stained glass by the pre-Raphaelite Henry Holiday and a monument to Gideon Mantell who lived almost next door and more or less invented dinosaurs.
