We've been to Beamish today... It's great, although we only had enough time to see a small part of it... 

Beamish is an open air museum, where original buildings have been re built brick by brick to form a period town, farm and village.  So you can go into the old grocers, the Edwardian dentist, the print shop, the sweet shop etc, and the guides will tell you all about their particular period in history... 

Fortunately the tickets last for a whole year, so we'll be able to come back and do the bits we've missed :-)
