Completely over processed

Photoshop playtime today as it was a wet and cold Sunday.

First I took some photos to convert to HDR. 3 photos 2 stops apart. Then I merged them but they looked bland. I then added some tonal mapping by playing with shadows and highlights to make it look more like what I think HDR looks like.

Not the best subject and the result is not a good shot but I'm sure I must have learnt some things with all this messing about. I have discovered that PS elements does not do tonal mapping and you have to make it up.
