Dust Storm
It's a mild morning and the sun is shining, but you'd never know it by looking at this. Driving to and from the city of Tucson in spots was a little treacherous.
There are some open spaces of barren desert, as you can see here. When the wind is whipped up, as it has been the past few days, and is again today, the dust just blows everywhere, doesn't matter if there's a road nearby or not.
I waited until I drove through a cloud of the brown stuff before I pulled over to take this picture. Stopping on the side of the road in the middle of a dust storm is for emergencies only...like when you're blinded by it.
Tip: If you have to pull off to the side of the road during a brown out, turn off all of your lights, including flashers, and become as invisible as possible. You don't want anyone to think you're on the road and try to follow you.
Seems as though I'm suffering from something called cortisone bounce. The cortisone injection in my shoulder makes it more inflamed and painful for several days after I get it until it supposedly settles down and actually reduces the original pain.
Well, it's been four days...pass the ice, please.
