The Green Man

. . .seem to be on a bit of a church theme at present. Back home after a trip to relatives in Yorkshire at the weekend. Here is a picture of a detail on another stone in the kirkyard at Liberton Kirk, Edinburgh. Often regarded as a pagan symbol, the Green Men retain a strong Christian occurrence in graveyards throughout Europe.
