As I listened to Radio 2 as I drove into town this morning, I heard a mention of Towel Day. Towel Day? That's a new one on me.

Apparently, Towel Day is where fans of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy carry a towel every May 25th as tribute to it's author, Douglas Adams. The reasoning behind this comes from a piece in Chapter 3 of the book where the important practical and psychological values of a towel are described.

Although I've not carried my towel with me at all times today, this one had a great practical use when I got out of the pool this afternoon.
