How to remove an uncooperative flan base

Watched this episode of the comic relief bake off on catch up TV this evening. This made me laugh so hard. Dame Edna's flan base stuck to the tin. Solution. Simples. If the pastry cannot be removed from the tin, remove the tin from the pastry using wire cutters.
