The Red, Red Roof, Rye Harbour, East Sussex

Today was my first day off work for a while so me and my brother decided to go to the seaside for the day - we both love Rye Harbour in East Sussex. Hundreds of years ago Rye (still one of the Cinque Ports) was right by the sea but over the centuries the original port silted up and now Rye itself is three miles from the sea!
Rye Harbour has it's own small village but is mainly known for it's nature reserve and the huge sweeping pebble beach. It has a strange, bleak, austere beauty and is totally non commercialised. The harbour itself is connected to the sea by a channel next to which is this corrugated hut with the red, red roof which really stood out against today's blue, blue sky. It was fantastically windy at the harbour today which helped to blow away my hangover from last night - meeting friends straight after work and then drinking three pints on an empty stomach was NOT a good idea, this didn't stop me from having a big glass of wine with a pizza later (even worse idea!). That's why yesterday's blip was posted so late (5 minutes to midnight) and was so short!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy's the weather.
