Fresh Flounder For Dinner? Almost

This afternoon I saw an egret pluck a nice flounder out of the salt marsh. The egret struggled with the oddly shaped fish for almost ten minutes before finally giving up and abandoning the fish.
Leaving that prize catch had to hurt.
