Fore!
I'll start by apologising to the non-golfers amongst you, because speaking as a golfer there is no conversation more boring than that of another golfer giving you a blow-by-blow account of their round that day.
Fear not, I'm not going to risk losing my hard earned band of 170 followers.
I've snapped my beloved clubs, because they represent a recent return to a game that I love and hate in equal measure. When you're not playing well and the rain is coming down and the wind is howling around you, it is a thoroughly miserable experience.
What I love about golf is the isolation of it, you're not - normally - dependent on a playing partner, it's just you against the course and it is genuinely a satisfying feeling when you smash a ball from the centre of the club and seeing it arrowing it's way down the fairway. Ooooh, beautiful!
It's also become a nice way of networking with local business people. As an "off-comer" I'm not particularly well known around these 'ere parts, so this has been a really nice way of getting to know people. Some what of a cliche, I'll admit, however I spent a nice part of Tuesday out in the sunshine "on business".
That is a very nice win for an otherwise office-bound, desk monkey.
So, there I was on the 15th....
