Ashoka rock edicts.

Ashoka (reign ca. 272-231 BC) Dhauli, south of Bhubaneshwar, rock inscribed with the edicts of the emperor Ashoka after he converted to Bhuddism. The top of the rock is sculpted as the head, trunk and front legs of an elephant to represent the Bhudda in the form he took as he entered his mothers womb in a dream.
