Vet visit
The lad was up and wandering around at 4am.
He had a sore eye. He has been getting the conjunctivitis quite regularly, but we have a wee tube of drops and it knocks it on the head right away. So he had a drop in the sore eye, went out and had a piddle (in the snow), thought about charging round the house playing, thought better of it, and went back to bed till the alarm.
Today we had the 'adolescent' free check up at the vet's. I say 'free' but of course it most definitely is not free - we have their Health Plan. I've now got a repeat prescription for the eye stuff. The vet thinks it's an allergy.
She commented on his weight. All those training treats...
He created such a fuss in the vet's I had to go and stand with him in the cat's area (no cats!) so that he couldn't see anyone. And that was when there weren't actually any dogs in the waiting area!
We walked the whole way home. Slowly.
He can look calmly at:
an ambulance whizzing by him, siren blaring.
a motorbike whizzing by him, accelerating away from traffic lights.
a big double decker bus thundering up to him, brakes screeching to a halt.
But he will bark at:
someone across the road with a hat on.
a silent pram with a sleeping baby inside.
someone hundreds of yards away carrying a bag.
Or just at nothing.
Strange wee creature.
I liked this bench. It was very timely for a wee rest (for me). We were both fair puggled when we got home. Archie is asleep. I'm going to read for a while (ie snooze, more like).
