In My World

By JoanneInOz

Dappling.

I chose this photo today for two reasons ~ the foreground and the background.

This is a Tibouchina tree that lives in my back garden, the same variety that I blipped recently, but on a different angle, and a different tree. My last Tibouchina blip was taken in the front garden, looking straight at the flower, so I thought I would show off the interesting stamens in the flower, by taking this photo side on.

The dappled light under the tree makes a very interesting background too, so even though I took many other photos, I thought this one to be the prettiest and most interesting, for flower lovers (like me!)

Something I'm not too keen on is mosquitoes. And sitting here at my desk, after walking around the garden for ten minutes, I'm doing more scratching than typing!! With the amount of rain and humidity we have been having recently, those mozzies are multiplying like you wouldn't believe.

I've always believed that in the big picture of things, every creature has its place, is useful in some way, is here for a specific reason. So if anyone has a simple explanation as to why I have to suffer so many bites from mozzies when I venture forth beyond the safety of closed doors, please tell me.

I'm really sure there is no logical explanation for the existence of these little disease carrying parasites, so I will continue to curse them, as I scratch my way through trying to make dinner.

Unless someone can convince me to love them, of course.....
