The Acropolis

The only place in Athens where you can actually look down on the Acropolis is here on the top of Lycabetus Hill.

It’s a simply stunning view, I can only think that a sunset seen from here on a clear evening must be a sight to behold.

Bathed by  the floodlights on the Acropolis  are,  on the left, The Parthenon, and to the right is The Erechtheion.  At the rear of the Acropolis but not lit today are The Temple of Athena Nike, and The Propylaea.

On Philopappos  Hill, just  behind  and  to the left  of the Acropolis, stands the Philopappos Monument.

The  Athens port area of Piraeus  can be seen on the coast.

I’ve  tried  a couple of panorama shots,  but I much prefer this image of the Acropolis.
