Sleep Associations

We've had to conclude that Lillian is now addicted to her dummy and can't sleep without it. We had no plans to give her one, and indeed when we tried once (in desperation to calm her) she spat it straight out. However, all the health professionals at the sick kids hospital (she had a quick check up there and all was well) asked where her dummy was. So I felt like a terrible parent that she didn't have one. And when she began sucking her thumb I figured a dummy might be more controllable so I persevered until she took to it. Now I'm googling 'how to break sleep associations'.
