Stalag Luft Thorp Arch

Mrs madwill and I went to Thorp Arch this morning to take some rubbish to the tip and to call in at the garden centre to collect some manure to spread on the soil and some potting compost. This is the view from the back of the garden centre!

The site is a former Royal Ordnance Factory (number 8 or 9 'filling factory' - depending on where you look) and the current retail area is housed in a series of former bunkers - which still have these little towers on top!

We also visited the little cafe there for a very nice brunch.
