Cropped
Had an wonderful and challenging time yesterday with some pastels!
i laid down some random marks on 3 different sheets of paper, using different monochromatic colours. then i washed them down with a solvent to move the pastel around....really love doing that! but the solvent seemed to take forever to dry!
i definitely find this type of painting the most intriguing - and in so many ways, the most challenging! i got started on 2 of the 3.....and have mixed feelings about where they are at.....no surprise there!!! but in playing around with the cropping of this painting - i learned something very valuable....the scale of my marks in relation to the size of the overall image! this probably represents less than a third of the whole image, and i love what is going on in this section!
More bloody snow, just for a change, but i was determined to head down to Baddeck for a swim. it was pretty crazy driving....the road was almost unidentifiable in some spots due to drifts and all the snow that fell since the last time the road was plowed! it was worth it, i had a glorious time in the pool and now i'm all squeaky clean!!!
getting ready to tackle the 3rd image!
