Hermit Thrush

This bird always makes me smile when I see it helping itself to the peanuts and sunflower seeds. It's a Hermit Thrush, and in the past three years there has been just one amidst all the flocks of Sparrows and Juncos and Finches and Jays and Cardinals and etc. etc. But! This year, I have actually on occasion seen two of them ~ at the same time. I don't know what their relationship, if any, might be ~ but I do know that when I've seen them *together* eating, one of them always tries to chase the other away. So ~ not an exactly warm relationship, it seems. Not a flashy bird, but a bird that I'm delighted has apparently found a Winter home here.
