Encrusted.

Another long, hot, sticky day in my secondment office today. Difficult to concentrate, especially with thoughts of the beach running through my head! As soon as I could escape, I met R at Asda by the beach where we bought a disposable BBQ and some supplies. R provided a tartan picnic blanket, and we sat watching the dolphins leaping from the water while the coals turned white.

We had a lovely tea of veggie sausages (minimal salmonella potential!), houmous and carrots, and some cremated caramelised corn on the cob. The sun was super hot; the warmest day this week. All the kids were out swimming in the sea again: in fact, there was one little girl in a lovely stripy blue swimsuit, with her back to me against the blue sky and blue sea... Would have made a beautiful Blip if only her Dad hadn't said no. What a shame. Must have been looking especially dodgy today.

I suppose it's a good thing really, otherwise this nice wee periwinkle encrusted with mini barnacles wouldn't have got a look in, and I think he's rather lovely (speaking as a marine biologist). I love that you can just see the tiny spiralled tip of his shell poking out from all his little hangers-on at the top.

Tonight I splashed out on a full membership for myself. I like it; satisfies my egocentric side. I've been looking through my stats all evening! This Blip thing has genuinely changed how I see the world.
