Earth Pillars of Ordiquish
It was a beautiful sunny and warm day but very windy, so this is my excuse for not getting a better shot of the Earth Pillars. They stand about 50' tall above the Spey and are formed from red glacial till dumped by the glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age. Over the centuries, they have been eroded by wind and water, so what is left now is three or four pillars, without their cap stones and best viewed from the far bank.
Better examples are les Pyramides d'Eusaingnie' that I saw years ago in the Swiss Alps. (could have been near Arolla) They still wear their caps.
