Sacrificed the Saturday morning lie in and got up early(ish) to head over to Sheffield to see the participants in the Trans Alpine Scooter Safari (fundraiser for the Cancer Society where wee tiny scooters go coast to coast (Christchurch to Hokitika) over the Southern Alps).

Bitterly cold morning but it's all for a good cause and a couple of friends of mine had given up their big bikes to climb onto wee scooters for the day....

Thought it would be a good idea to head on up to the top of Porters Pass and catch them there as well...would have been a better idea if I'de remembered a hat! (think my ears were snap frozen)...

Anyways this guy made it to the top (he was actually going UP hill but I had my camera on a silly angle) ...still a long way to go but he made it thru the steepest bit!...got a couple of other good pics but liked this one best

been home for hours now with the fire roaring...soup an a hot shower an I still haven't thawed out!
