Sunrise behind the Castle Keep, Newcastle

Another early start, this time on a train to London for a meeting.

As I arrived at the station carpark in Newcastle, there was a lovely red morning sky behind the castle keep. This shot is taken from the east end of the carpark.

(PS The "meeting" I was attending was the official opening of the new premises of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of which I was Vice-President & Chairman of Education from 2005-9. The Patron of the College is Prince Andrew, Duke of York...and I shook hands with His Royal Highness - Wow!!)
