carpe the moment

i didn't have time on the way to work to stop and snap the crisp dry leaves in the morning, so i had to settle for snapping them damp at lunchtime - i should really get up earlier so i can catch those opportunities! the wind's been howling the last few days, so the rowans along the street are bare and the trees in the park are letting glimpses of the view behind now, but there are odd little clusters of colour, like here. the SAD kicked in about 1 august with the gloomy weather, but even on blustery damp days like today if there's a gap in the clouds and a ray of sun i can cope.
