ROAM

the ROAM arrived this morning, all the way from the states. This stuff smells unbelievable - and certainly an oddball that's for sure. It's supposed to smell like the old midwest, of cattle ranches and living in the great outdoors. Of campfires and old battered leather, horses hooves and dry dust and dander. And it does. But it smells of much more than that too.

As soon as I lathered it I was standing in my Taid's old potting tool shed on Hope Mountain, about 6 years old. The feeling totally hit me out of the blue, dragging up some old happy locked-in memory and it properly overwhelmed me. I've experienced memories being rekindled like that by a smell before, but more due to nostalgia that I was aware of than something locked-away coming to the fore again like that.

This soap is simply awesome in every way.
