Life from city to village

Locked away

In any city, there are always parts no one wants to really see. This is in the heart of an area which has always been home to immigrants. When my Mum was a kid, post war, it was for Jewish immigrants. It's housed West Indians, those from the Indian subcontinent, and more recently, Eastern Europeans. Some houses are well kept, others... well... less so. This is also the catching area for those who struggle, or who fall from grace. Its an area rarely photographed. Its not aesthetically pleasing, and although less crowded than the inner city Victorian areas, its still more hemmed in than most would like. These houses are all five rooms, two reception, two bedroom and a bathroom. And those are small rooms at that.
