Interesting Door - No. 2

This is the door to the Diocesan Chambers in Manchester.  If you follow the link above it will give you some history on this building and the area in which it is located in Manchester.  It looks as though the earlier photos were from the 50's or 60's and the door was certainly there then.  They have ruined it with the odd matching piece of wood haven't they?  I cannot understand why people do that instead of doing a proper job and matching it all up - it's laziness I think.  Also I've just noticed the road sign - not sure where you can't turn left - perhaps it is when you enter the building :)
