Happy 21st
A mask and a candle.
A gin and a tonic.
A vodka and a coke.
A Malibu and a cranberry.
A bacon butty, a sausage, chips and chicken, mayonaise and tomatoe sauce.
Aztec disco, he's very good is Chris, plays to his audience and deserves a plug.
A good venue at the stoneybeck inn and the privalage to be invited to a colleague and friend daughters 21st birthday party. I can remember the day or day after she was born and her dad saying with a big old smile "I have a little girl".
So with food a plenty, drinks too, good music and good company of those invited we all took part and wore our masquerade masks. We had a dance, we had a drink, we had a laugh.
But what was that burning smell? Food all finished. Perhaps the disco had a smoke machine but it was no where to be seen. Is it a friend who was vaping, is it his vapour? Or perhaps it is more likely to be the mask and the candle! Oh yes, mother of the party girl threw her mask over to our table, a good shot by all accounts, a good landing, face up, not broken. Only its little feather or tie had landed just above the flame of the candle! Not directly on it, just above it enough for the heat to start to melt it without burning it!
Thank goodness we averted a disaster and were able to prevent further damage.
I'm off to bed now very tired, ears ringing and wishing a young lady a happy 21st.
