Invisible Istanbul
I took a tour around of some of the sights along the Golden Horn and we crossed over onto the Asia side to a hilltop with the best view of the city. The weather didn't cooperate. Instead, the hilltop was shrouded in mist, with several inches of melting snow on the ground. The only other passengers on the tour were a pair of Tunisians, poorly dressed for the winter weather. The younger of the two, only sixteen years old, had never seen snow before. He actually jumped up and down in excitement and posed for a picture holding a slushy snowball. I didn't mind that I couldn't see Istanbul from there; the view was just fine.
