A special tree
I took a lovely shot of dwarf daffodils peeping through very pretty pink heather in the garden of a house for sale in the village. I decided on this tree though so that I could share the story. As you will observe, it has seen better days but the owner refuses to have the dead trunk removed. Reason? She received a letter dated 3rd July 1981 saying:
Dear Mr and Mrs .....
You will probably have gathered from the press that the Mulberry leaves you kindly let us pick last year were put to a very special purpose in providing the silk which we made for Lady Diana Spencer as a wedding present for her dress. We feel particularly ;proud that the Mulberry leaves came from right across Dorset and Somerset which has added a special touch to the gift which we hope you too will feel you had a hand in.
Nice story eh?
