St.Abbs

These small bronze figure's represent the wives & children of Charles Purves & James and William Thorburn who were lost at sea from this village in the great storm of 1881 when 189 fishermen from the East coast of Scotland lost their lives on that fateful day. Great walk from Coldingham to St.Abbs on a very windy day.
