Lazy Saturday

After a few full-on days, I was ready for a lazy one today. It was dark when we got home yesterday, so it wasn't till this morning I saw with delight that the pot I had planted up with a sequence of bulbs had blossomed forth with gorgeous irises. On the garden birds front, the feeders were empty even though I filled them shortly before leaving, even the one with a guard that allows in nothing larger than a finch and holds over a litre of seed. there was also evidence on the lawn that our regular Sparrowhawk had dined on (probably) Sparrow.
