Flicker

A good bird day - I saw a pair of pileated woodpeckers and a pair of bluebirds who were checking out one of the nest boxes - hopefully they will move in and I can watch them all summer. And then I spent a few minutes with this Northern Flicker who was unusually sociable.
My mom didn't want to paint or play cards so we just kind of hung out today. It's hard to get her interested enough to try anything new (or anything at all, really).
